FAQ

Q.

Is The Gallery Grid™ reusable?

A.

This is not recommended.  Once the material is used and the adhesive is exposed, it’s quite difficult for it to be re-rolled or reapplied. In addition, if used properly, holes will be made in the material to mark the locations of nails or other hanging hardware. Our goal is to offer you a significant amount of the film sufficient for multiple small to medium sized projects.

Q.

Is the adhesive going to take the paint off my wall?

A.

If used as directed, the film should not remove the paint from your walls. Your wall surface should be clean and fully dried. Generally, we suggest you do not apply to surfaces that have been painted within the last 30 days.

Q.

The film isn't sticking to my wall.  Am I doing something wrong?

A.

There are a few reasons the product may not stick to your wall:

+ There is dust or residue. - It is best that you clean your wall surface with a damp cloth prior to application to ensure proper adhesion to your wall surface.

+ The wall surface is not a smooth texture. - In order for the product to stick to the wall as it should, the surface should be completely smooth (no textured paints, etc).   A way to work around this would be to tape the product to the wall along the start of the film. This should hold the product securely to the wall as you complete applying the film to the surface. Tape at additional points along the edges if necessary.

Q.

Something is not quite lining up. What’s going on here?

A.

Before starting your project, please compare your measuring device with the grid to ensure the measurements are comparable. Each “X” on the grid represents a 1” inch measurement. Each line represents a 1/4” inch measurement and each dot represents an 1/8” inch measurement. These have been tested and are within a required tolerance. While most measuring tapes and rulers are accurate and are within the same tolerances, we have found that some measuring devices are not.

Q.

My wall is really dark. Do you have a grid that works on dark walls?

Q.

do you offer any other sizes?

A.

At present there are technical limitations in producing rolls wider than 4ft.  As soon as this option becomes available we will be on top of it!  We do however, plan to offer a more narrow version soon.
